John Gilvar, M.A. started and managed Health Care for the Homeless programs in Austin, Texas and Seattle, Washington. He founded Gilvar Consulting after 20 years of eliminating barriers for people with complex health and housing needs by creating cross-agency teams to integrate services and support recovery. He draws extensively on his experience facilitating collaboration among emergency shelter, supportive housing, outreach, hospital, primary care, and behavioral health services providers. In several recent engagements, John has used his expertise in coordinating public health disaster responses and leading racial equity organizational development. As a certified professional coach, he works with a variety of leaders in the housing, public health, and community health sectors.
