From 2016 to 2018, TAC worked with the Massachusetts Interagency Council on Housing and Homelessness to assist in updating the state’s 2008 Olmstead Plan. TAC worked with multiple state agencies to create a snapshot of the system as a baseline, identify system strengths and gaps, and prioritize areas to build or improve upon. At TAC’s suggestion, the state formed a Leadership Team of key state agencies representing housing, services, and Medicaid, as well as a broader cross-agency Planning Committee and an external Stakeholder Advisory Committee, and conducted two sets of public listening sessions. Based on input from these groups, TAC drafted an updated Olmstead Plan addressing the core components for the system to support community integration of people with disabilities. The draft underwent public review and TAC worked with the Leadership Team to incorporate review comments into the final plan.
