Under a contract with California’s Department of Housing and Community Development launched in 2019, TAC provided 24 mostly rural and suburban communities with capacity-building assistance to enhance their homeless crisis response systems. Through this contract, TAC worked with Yolo County CoC stakeholders to review the CoC’s governance and structure, recommending a model designed to increase buy-in from leadership and align funding options (including the federal Emergency Solutions Grant program and other outside sources) to increase resources within the CoC. As a result of this engagement, the CoC gained tools and guidance to move forward in strengthening its governance structure, and to better address the needs of the community’s homeless crisis response system.
