Throughout our country’s history, local, regional, state, and federal government agencies have created and maintained racial inequality. Racial, ethnic, and gender disparities pose an enormous challenge to all systems of care — but policy changes at multiple levels and across multiple sectors can drive systemic change. Long-term impact requires meaningful education with the community and other institutions to ensure both accountability and sustainability.
