Focus Areas
Across the country, TAC provides expert technical assistance and consultation to support efforts by government agencies, providers, and other stakeholders to improve the lives of vulnerable populations. Our services are applied in Focus Areas that are critical to our clients and the priority populations they serve.
Homelessness
Progress toward preventing and ending homelessness is achieved through the strategic use of resources and Housing First strategies. TAC’s consultants include experts on addressing chronic, youth, family, and Veteran homelessness.
Affordable Housing
In response to the enormous and growing demand for rental housing that meets the needs of extremely low-income people — including those with disabilities — TAC helps states and communities develop policies and financing approaches that can increase the supply.
Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder
TAC helps organizations and agencies at every level to align systems, leverage resources, and deliver the effective care and services that people with mental illness and substance use disorders need to thrive.
Olmstead & Community Integration
The 1999 Olmstead decision affirmed the right of people with disabilities to live in integrated settings. TAC helps states comply with federal standards by increasing their supportive housing supply, identify funding sources, and improving access to community-based services.
Medicaid
TAC is fluent in federal Medicaid rules and regulations, and skilled at leveraging Medicaid to promote access to services that help people with disabilities, youth in foster care, and people experiencing homelessness to live at home and in the community.
Racial Equity
Action Lab
TAC shares proven equity innovations — including strategies to incorporate lived expertise — with policymakers working to eliminate racial, ethnic, and social disparities.
