Isabel Cuervo is a program officer in Research-Evaluation-Learning at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Isabel is an equity, empowerment, and systems-focused research and evaluation professional who has significant experience working with Latinx immigrant communities and allied non-profit organizations. Most recently, Dr. Cuervo was a Senior Research Associate at Queens College, City University of New York, where she co-led participatory research and evaluation, and intervention projects addressing work-related health and well-being of immigrant Latinx and other precariously employed workers such as, housecleaners, day laborers, or those that hold other low-wage jobs. Project collaborations involved a network of very small to large grassroots worker-oriented organizations in New York and New Jersey, and research results informed their organizational activities. Isabel has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from Barnard College, Columbia University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Psychology from the City University of New York. Her experience as a second-generation immigrant and bi-lingual (Spanish) and bi-cultural identities informs her work.
