Affordable Housing

The shortage of affordable rental housing in the United States is a major barrier to community integration for people with disabilities. Furthermore, with incomes that average only 20 percent of area median income, many people with significant disabilities are homeless or at risk of becoming so.

In response to the demand for affordable housing and the enormous needs of extremely low-income people — including those with disabilities — TAC works with states and communities to develop policies and financing approaches that can increase the supply of rental housing and permanent supportive housing.
