HUD Announces FY13 CoC Tier 2 Awards

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced today a second round of grants totaling $140 million to nearly 900 local homeless assistance programs across the country through its Continuum of Care (CoC) Program. 

Today's funding announcement includes 436 new local projects aimed at providing permanent supportive housing for persons experiencing chronic homelessness through a Housing First approach and to rapidly re-house families with children that are living on the street or in emergency shelters.

Earlier this year, HUD awarded $1.6 billion in the first round of Tier 1 funding to more than 7,100 existing local homeless programs operating across the country.

vThe U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced today nearly $1.6 billion in grants to renew support for 7,100 local homeless housing and service programs across the U.S. through its Continuum of Care (CoC) Program.  These grants support a variety of programs including street outreach, client assessment, and direct housing assistance to individuals and families with children who are experiencing homelessness.
